Monthly retainer

Paid search campaigns managed properly, with none of your budget going to our fee.

We charge a flat management fee for paid search. Your media budget goes entirely to Google or Bing. No 15% of ad spend, no management mark-ups, no incentive for us to recommend you spend more. Our fee stays the same whether your budget is $2,000 or $20,000 per month.

What is included

Delivery: New campaigns live within 7 to 10 business days of start. Existing campaign audits completed in week 1. Monthly reports delivered in week 1 of each month.

Not for you if... This service covers Google Ads and Bing Ads (Microsoft Advertising). Social media advertising (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok) is not included in this service. Media spend is billed directly by the platforms to your account - it is not included in our fee.

Why the fee structure matters

The most common paid search agency model is a percentage of ad spend, typically 10 to 20 percent of whatever you put into the platforms each month. This creates an obvious misalignment: the agency earns more when you spend more, regardless of whether that spending is producing results. We have seen businesses described by their previous agencies as "needing to increase their budget" when what they actually needed was better-structured campaigns.

We charge a flat fee. If your campaigns are performing well at your current budget level, we will not suggest increasing it for the sake of our invoice. If a budget increase makes strategic sense for your goals, we will tell you why with data to support the recommendation.

Campaign management in practice

We begin every paid search engagement with a full account audit or, for new accounts, an architecture build from scratch. Campaign structure matters more than most businesses realise. A well-structured account segments traffic by intent, allows for precise bid management, and makes testing straightforward. A poorly structured account is difficult to optimise because you cannot isolate variables.

Keyword strategy is where most accounts have significant money to save. Overly broad match types, insufficient negative keyword coverage, and generic broad keywords that attract informational traffic instead of commercial intent are the three most common sources of wasted spend we find in inherited accounts. Addressing these alone typically reduces wasted spend by 20 to 40 percent in the first 60 days.

Landing pages and Quality Score

A well-managed campaign delivering traffic to a poor landing page will never perform to its potential. We review and make recommendations for every landing page in your campaigns. A high Quality Score reduces your cost per click for the same position, which means your budget goes further. Landing page relevance is one of the three factors Google uses to determine Quality Score, and it is often the most neglected.

Questions about this service

We generally recommend a minimum media budget of $1,500 per month for Google Ads to generate statistically meaningful data quickly enough to optimise effectively. Lower budgets work for niche markets with very specific targeting but take longer to optimise.

This service covers Google Ads and Bing Ads only. Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn, and other platforms are not included. Contact us if you need social advertising and we can discuss whether it makes sense for us to scope that separately.
